Gest Editors: Ehud Keinan the Editor-in-Chief of the The Israel Journal of Chemistry (IJC) and President of the Israel Chemical Society, and Prof. Patrica Thiel , on 7. October 2011, invited prominent scientists from the field of quasicrystals , among them Ana Smontara to write a short review article for a special issue of The Israel Journal of Chemistry (IJC) featuring the theme of “Quasicrystals” to honor Daniel Schetmans’s Nobel prize for chemistry for 2011. Ana Smontara with her ex PhD students (Petar Popčević, Denis Stanić, Željko Bihar and Ante Bilušić), on the basis of their research work in the filed of Quasicrystals, wrote the rewiev article entitleded “Heat transport in aluminum based quasicrystals i-AlPdMn, i-AlCuFe, and d-AlCoNi”. In addition to that Ana Smontara is co-author with Prof. Janez Dolinšek of the review paper “Decagonal Quasicrystals and Approximants: Two-Dimensional or Three-Dimensional Solids?”. This special issue was delivered to Daniel Schetman during the awards ceremony in Stockholm on December 10th of 2011.
